Access rights in Scotland

The public right of access to land in Scotland which was
created by The Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003, with effect from February 2005, is
explained in this article. Under that Act, the public right extends to all land in
Scotland which is not covered by defined exceptions, and the right extends beyond purely
recreational use.
